Going into the year 2015 I shared with you my resolutions for this year and also shared with you the mini goals I set for myself for each of the 12 months. I have given myself one goal to accomplish for each new month. This month my goal for the month of January is to establish a healthy eating regimen. I am proud to say that I have met this goal. I feel like I have gotten into a pretty good routine and have made the necessary changes to eat healthier.
Instead of eating at pretty much any time of day, I have set myself, set time frames for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I also have a snack in between meals. At the end of the evening I am no longer eating after 8:00 pm at first it was kinda tough and I wanted to eat everything but on the 3rd day of my diet change I had noticed such an improvement. I had more energy and my metabolism was working much better and I was giving my body time to digest my food instead of over stuffing it with heavy meals and sweets.
The hardest thing for me was limiting sweets. I have such a sweet tooth so I find that I am craving that the most. But every time I start to crave something sugary, I just drink some water and that really seems to take the craving away.
I have added more fruits and veggies into my diet. Along with whole grains, nuts, and salads. I have been for the most part, sticking to a lot of chicken and turkey for protein.
I am feeling pretty great about myself and so happy that I was able to really establish healthier eating habits!
