Christmas is almost here! Only 8 more days to go! One of my favorite family traditions is getting together with my family on Christmas Eve. It has always been a huge celebration and every year I spend it with my mom's side of the family. There is lots of food and yummy treats. All my aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers, sisters, and nieces show up. We are a huge family. My mom is one of nine children and each of her siblings has a handful of kids and some of them have their own kids now.
It is so fun to see all the little ones opening their gifts. They are pretty lucky. This new generation of babies don't have to wait until midnight like I had to when I was little. Me and my brother and cousins would try so hard to see through the wrapping paper to see if we could get an idea of what we got. We even sometimes tried to be extra sneaky by tearing a little hole to see if we could figure out what the present was. It always failed! But it was fun!
On Christmas Eve everyone gets to open gifts from the grandparents aunts and uncles and cousins. When I was little we were allowed to bring only one present from under the Christmas tree at home to open at our grandparents house. It was always a lot of fun! To this day Christmas is still a huge gathering and I cant wait to be with all my family next week.
I cant wait til my husband and I have our own little ones to include during this special time of year. I'm excited to see what our own traditions will be with our kids.
Yay for holidays and family. Oh and can you believe it? I am only eleven days away from turning 25! Ahh I still don't know how that happened!
