I talk to my dog like he is a person... I think though that talking to your pet like if it were a human is actually quite common. I don't have any children at the moment, so to myself and my husband he is like our "child" we talk to him as if he can understand everything we are saying. I mean I'm sure he understands certain sentences or phrases but sometimes I just like to talk to him as if he would respond back. It's silly I know, but I'm sure I'm not alone on this.
