Why be a minimalist?
"It’s a way to escape the excesses of the world around us — the
excesses of consumerism, material possessions, clutter, having too much
to do, too much debt, too many distractions, too much noise. But too
little meaning. Minimalism is a way of eschewing the non-essential in
order to focus on what’s truly important, what gives our lives meaning,
what gives us joy and value."

My husband and I have decided to make a change in our life style. We have talked about this for a little while and have decided to finally take the plunge and start on a journey together to try and live the life style of a minimalist. When I found the quote that is posted above, it really spoke to me. Everything that I was trying to express to my husband was right there in that paragraph. I have started following the blog by Joshua Becker and have found so much knowledge and inspiration! I highly recommend everyone checking out his blog. Once a month I plan to post updates here on Little Bird, to document our process of becoming a minimalist. Through out this journey we are about to embark on we will be defining and shaping what minimalism means to our family and how we can best live our lives to follow a more simple living life. I don't expect this to be an easy journey, but at least my husband and I will have each other to lend each other strength and courage to stay on track.
